JOB SUMMARY: 

To provide the skills necessary to enforce rules and regulations pertaining to the operation and parking of vehicles on campus and in the inspection and safeguarding of buildings and property.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Follows standard practices and procedures to patrol buildings and grounds.
  • Directs flows of traffic and issues citations on traffic and parking violations.
  • Patrols assigned areas for safety of employees and visitors, protects property from theft, vandalism, illegal entry and other acts of crime.
  • Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure, checks for fire, water leaks and other safety hazards.
  • Provides information to visitors as to the location of parking facilities, buildings and offices.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High school or equivalent.  No experience necessary.  Must possess a Valid Texas Class C Drivers License.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard law enforcement equipment and vehicles.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

May be exposed to adverse weather conditions.  Position may be hazardous.

OTHER:

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
