Job Summary:
To provide rapid response to law enforcement agencies or any other emergency needs and give directions, information, or other aid.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Dispatches officers to situations requiring police response.
- Maintains records of incoming calls and police/patrol activities.
- Communicates with other emergency agencies (police, fire, ambulance).
- Operates various computer terminals including the Computer Aided Dispatch System.
- Completes appropriate reports.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. After employment, successful completion of a minimum of 40 hours of training for a Police Telecommunications Operator as mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. Must pass typing test at a net rate of 20 wpm.
Equipment:
Standard dispatcher and office equipment.

Standard office environment.
