Job Summary:

To provide advanced skills and supervision in guiding vehicular traffic and enforcing parking and traffic regulations, and to provide service, information, and aid to all citizens as circumstances require.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Supervises, schedules, and trains parking controllers and parking cashiers.
  • Oversees daily operations of public and contract parking areas.
  • Maintains radio contact with parking controllers and police dispatch to reply or provide information as requested.
  • Reviews issued citations to ensure accuracy requirements are observed.
  • Handles all complaints regarding citations. 
  • Acts as a liaison between UTMB and the Galveston Municipal Court. 
  • Provides oversight and coordination of vendor contracts related to parking areas. 
  • Schedules and coordinates special event parking for campus.
  • Submits daily activity report and other reports as required.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

High school or equivalent and three years related experience. Must possess a Valid Texas Class C Drivers License and complete a defensive driving course in the first six months of work.

Equipment: 

Standard law enforcement equipment and vehicles.

Working Environment:

May be exposed to adverse weather conditions.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
