Job Summary:
To participate as a member of the management team, with specific responsibility toward the effective communication between the clinical medical staff the local security staff. The Medical / Security Liaison works with the Area Medical Director and Practice Manager in the operation of the facility in responding to the needs of the patients, clinical departments, the Group Practice as well as the onsite security leadership.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Personnel Management:
-
Continuously monitors safety and security matters within the clinical practice.

Responsible for training clinical medical staff on local security practices.

Objectively evaluates/documents performance of personnel and takes corrective action as appropriate.

Administrative and Medical Liaison:
-
Represents the clinical practice when meeting and working with security leadership.

Leadership:
-
Maintains a continuous physical presence within the clinical practice and responds to requests for assistance.
-
Creatively identifies opportunities for improvement in all aspects of practice.
-
Facilitates patient flow communication and problem resolution.
-
Assists with implementation of policies and programs.
-
Serves as a resource person and role model for staff.
-
Encourages participation in practice activities.
-
Program Development and Project Coordination:
-
Serves, as requested, on task forces, work groups, or committees.
-
Networks with other departments and services to further program development.
-
Updates the appropriate persons of the progress of the project(s) as appropriate.

Communication:
-
Effectively communicates with medical, clinical, clerical and security staff to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the medical practice.

Effectively communicates with patients and visitors to resolve inquiries regarding the operations of the clinic and the safety and security practices at hand.

Effectively communicates with other members of the practice management team to ensure the efficient operations of the medical practice.

Recognizes the need and responds in a timely manner, to inform senior management of operational issues within areas of responsibility.

Maintenance of Environment and Security:
-
Identifies and promptly addresses unsafe practices and other safety issues in the medical practice.

Ensures staff participation in all fire safety, infection control and other mandatory training.
-
Other:
-
Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Performs related duties as assigned by senior management.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelors degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field or equivalent required. A minimum of (3) years experiences with a State of Federal Correctional system is required.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in health care, preferably in an outpatient setting, with supervisory experience.
