Job Summary:
Responsible for the total operation of a service program under the mission of the University’s workforce development that provides career clothing assistance to UTMB hospital patients, visiting families and students of the University who demonstrate financial need and employment and career goals.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Responsible for initial set up of facilities; planning and securing necessary equipment.
- Develop a marketing and communication plan focusing on donor support and also on advertising service to clients.
- Establish and maintain an inventory monitoring and cash handling system. Report monthly expenditures and income of the operation as well as numbers of clients served.
- Initiate community outreach efforts with retail stores and individuals to generate donations of career clothing for men and women.
- Perform sales in a customer friendly manner with all who patronize the store.
- Establish and maintain relationships with other service departments such as Social Work, Patient Services, and University Office of Student Affairs for client referral.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and three years of related experience. Knowledge of retail sales, merchandising and inventory, marketing, and customer service.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard retail, warehouse or office environment.
