JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the
maintenance
and overall management of the UTMB Dependent Care
Program.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:

Develops, implements and enhances
Child Care
Center policies and programs in order to provide a safe and healthy early
childhood learning environment.

Manages business and child care activities
ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and
guidelines.

Selects and supervises staff, evaluating their
progress towards achieving an optimal living and learning environment for the
children.

Supervises the recruitment and placement of
children to achieve and maintain full enrollment of the center.

Works with staff and parents to assure
effective communication.

Maintains various records and reports
pertaining to the health, progress, learning and emotional development of each
child in the center.

Completes requirements for NAEYC
Accreditation.

Participates in budget planning and oversees
center expenditures, completing necessary reports to ensure fiscal soundness
and adherence to the center's budget.

Monitors the maintenance of the center's
physical plant to assure the safety and well-being of the children.

Participates in program planning and policy
review in cooperation with other university officials.

Identifies appropriate internal controls for
department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field and four years
experience as a Child Care Director. Current, valid Day Care Director's license
as administered by the Texas Department of Human Resources or capable of
obtaining one.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard child care / educational, and/or office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Standard child care environment.
