JOB SUMMARY: 

To provide basic child care and early childhood educational services in a day care environment. 

MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: 

• Implements approved child care and educational programs. 
• Is responsible for maintaining the health, well-being and learning environment for an assigned group of children.
• Maintains various records and reports pertaining to the heath, progress, learning and emotional development of each child in assigned group.
• Consults with parents of children as needed and conducts parent conferences.
• Participates in meetings and makes recommendations regarding appropriate curricula, program operations and the purchase and utilization of equipment required to implement curriculum.
• Participates in continued professional growth activities.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

High school or equivalent and 1 year related experience required.  Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent. 

EQUIPMENT: 

Standard child care / educational, and/or office equipment. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

Standard child care environment.
