JOB SUMMARY: 

To provide specialized and technical skills involving medical illustration projects of average complexity. 

MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: 

• Applies knowledge of medical science to the observation and graphic presentation of microscopic structures, anatomical specimens, scientific teaching, and other media.
• Prepares drawings, diagrams, and models to illustrate medical and surgical findings.
• Prepares drawings, diagrams, and graphic figures of average complexity using crayon, pen, water colors, carbon dust, or any other illustrative media.
• Draws illustrations as seen under microscopic.
• Researches data in medical and scientific publications to become acquainted with subject matter.
• Prepares designs and layouts for less skilled illustrators to follow.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.
• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and no experience. 

EQUIPMENT: 

Standard equipment used for medical illustration production. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 

Standard multimedia environment.
