Job Summary:

To supervise and coordinate an institutional publications program.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Supervises and participates in the coordination of publications to ensure the completed project meets its intended purpose and the desired level of quality.
  • Reviews copy to ensure clarity; to comply with laws, rules, or regulations; and to verify accuracy of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and factual data.
  • Advises writers and contributors on content changes.
  • Meets with client to clarify specifications of a project.
  • Coordinates and maintains project schedule.
  • Advises client as needed throughout completion of project.
  • Recommends and coordinates the use of support services such as art, photography, and printing.
  • Verifies that standards such as typesetting and design specifications are met during each stage of project.
  • Reviews production charges and project estimates.
  • Acts as liaison with support services departments to promote communication.
  • Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and three years related experience.

Equipment: 

Standard office equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
