Job Summary:
To develop, implement, and coordinate all aspects of reference laboratory relationships between UTMB satellite clinics, community physicians, other agencies, and UTMB Department of Pathology/ Laboratory Medicine within UTMB service area.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Plan and carry out in-office calls on university clinic managers and private physicians, to provide a forum for information exchange concerning the Laboratory Outreach Program.

Identifies, prioritizes, and schedules meetings with clinic managers and private physicians to facilitate the use of university laboratories.

Communicates information from clinic managers and private physicians through the appropriate channels.

Prepares regular work plans specifying initiatives, objectives, schedules, and travel plans as appropriate.

Conducts market surveys and analyzes data to investigate the feasibility of capitated laboratory arrangements in cooperation with UT-Med and UTMB Hospitals.

Develops and promotes specialty programs such as specialty laboratories in infectious diseases, drug screens, etc.

Coordinates with Shared Department Resources the delivery of specimens and dissemination of results.

Supervises the courier service to satellite clinics and routing options.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and 3 years related experience.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment. Travel will be required.
Other:
