Job Summary:

To provide professional and/or supervisory skills necessary to edit and evaluate articles and manuscript.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Plans, organizes, supervises, and participates in the assembling and editing of information, documents, and other material for publication.
  • Edits publications such as manuals, handbooks, articles, and proposals.
  • Supervises and evaluates the work of subordinates and makes recommendations and changes.
  • Maintains quality control over all aspects of publication, including the final presentation of material from the standpoint of timely productions, informative, and readability.
  • Confers with department representatives as to their publication needs and resolves problems concerned with developing and publishing subject material.
  • Secures support services such as artwork and photography and assigns personnel to produce pictures and illustrations.
  • Develops comprehensive estimates for publication projects utilizing estimates from other service departments.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and three years related experience.

Equipment: 

Standard office equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
