Job Summary:

Evaluate, write, and edit manuscripts and/or to provide editorial skills in connection with all phases of the preparation of literature, technical reports, and articles.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Edits manuscripts and publications such as manuals, handbooks, articles, and proposals.
  • Coordinates the activities of writers engaged in preparing technical, scientific, medical, or research related publications.
  • Plans and participates in assembling information, documents, and other material used in publications.
  • Recommends graphics, drawings, diagrams, pictures, and other ways to illustrate manuscripts.
  • Confers with authors or specialists in a specific subject area and assists in the preparation of rough drafts and manuscripts.
  • Works with authors to add, delete, or change content of articles and manuscripts written for publication.
  • Edits and corrects final draft and prepares for typesetting.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and one year related experience.

Equipment: 

Standard office equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
