Job Summary:
To provide specialized journalistic skills in the preparation of a variety of public relations materials, and planning procedures and techniques for use in public relations programs.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Publicizes activities and events of public or local interest.

Develops ideas and collects information for news releases of feature articles for release to newspapers, wire services, and radio/television stations.

Exercises independent judgment and creativity in organizing and completing assignments.

Maintains contact with various departments to keep abreast of news items of interest which require public attention.

Handles editing of manuscripts as assigned.

Coordinates the ordering and distribution of promotional items.
-
Arranges for typing, duplication, and distribution of materials.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and one year related experience.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
Other:
