JOB SUMMARY:

Decision support analyst assists in the maintenance and updating of the Eclipsys (TII) Decision Support System and for the timely and accurate reporting of information from the system. 

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Examines historical financial/clinical data to provide senior management with valuable data upon which to make relevant financial and operational decisions
  • Assists in loading and processing data for the Eclipsys (TII) Decision Support System on an ongoing basis
  • Assists in auditing of Eclipsys (TII) Decision Support System data back to all feeder systems to ensure data integrity
  • Perform analyses of profitability, utilization, costing by service line, DRG, etc.
  • Prepare customized reports for both internal use and as required for external agencies
  • Assist in yearly budget activities related to updating of Departmental Cost Manager (DCM)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and respond to urgent requests
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure

 MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

 REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
  • Two years of experience in health care or related experience with a heavy emphasis in one or more of the following areas: financial analysis, financial reporting, financial operations, database management and cost accounting
  • Understanding of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, database management, cost accounting, health care finance and hospital financial systems
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

 EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.
