JOB SUMMARY:

To provide day-to-day processing and management of assigned activities that include timeliness of award establishment and a reasoned application of research administration principles appropriate to the circumstances.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Processes all project set-ups and budget loads in a timely manner.

Ø      Reviews and enter all proposal data into the PeopleSoft database.

Ø     Reviews/updates/initiates all award and budget data in order to achieve over-all target objective of seventy-two (72) hours for award set-up and budget load.

Ø    Re-establishes any account found to have incorrect or otherwise unacceptable attribute data within seventy-two (72) hours.

Ø     Corrects database attribute(s) in response to appropriate request from Sponsored Research function or other central business operation.

  • Maintains knowledge of database and research administration functions in order to maximize PeopleSoft data integrity.
  • Follows-up, on a regular basis, of all files returned to pre-award/post-award/contract functions for additional information needed for set-up.
  • Responds to all requests for information and/or assistance in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department and reporting structure.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and two years experience with research administration.

EQUIPMENT:

 Standard office equipment.

  WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

 Standard office environment.

 OTHER:

 Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
