JOB SUMMARY:

To provide executive assistance to the President in carrying out the missions of the institution.  Serves as a liaison between the President and the institution-at-large, and acts as a patient advocate.  Manages the budget and daily operations of the President’s Office by providing leadership and guidance to staff members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as the liaison and interface between the President and the institution-at-large, its committees, and the medical/research staff.
  • Acts as a patient advocate and ensures patients have access to appropriate information and resources.  Ensures patient complaints are resolved in a timely, patient, and friendly manner, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Manages the daily operations of the President’s Office by providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to the staff.
  • Manages the budget for the President’s Office.
  • Serves as the liaison with areas that report directly to the President to enhance communication and daily operations.
  • Responsible for executing, with minimal direction, administrative duties at the highest level.
  • Exercises considerable discretion and judgment.
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates administrative duties.
  • Assists top executive in establishing and attaining goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates and interacts with other executives and administrators or their associates, within institutional, system, or governmental settings.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of reports, graphs, and charts.
  • Responds to or initiates correspondence of a confidential or technical nature.
  • Prepares meeting agendas.
  • Interviews and selects candidates for support staff positions within the department.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree or equivalent, and seven years of related experience.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard office environments.
