Job Summary:
To provide professional secretarial skills for an Executive Officer of the Institution.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Uses discretion and judgment in answering inquiries from administrative, professional, faculty, and classified employees regarding confidential information.
- May interpret policies and procedures pertaining to department and/or functional area.
- Gathers and compiles information for supervisor's reports and presentations.
- Maintains confidential files, fiscal records and ledger sheets for the department.
- Composes, transcribes, and types confidential correspondence.
- Maintains supervisor's appointment calendar, arranging appointments, meetings, and travel.
- May assist in the training and evaluation of the clerical staff.
- Screens and refers phone calls.
- Greets and directs visitors.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school diploma or equipment and five years related experience. Must pass typing test at a net rate of 40 wpm and pass spelling test with 85% accuracy.
