Job Summary:
To provide transcription
skills for the performance of complex tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of
and experience in the use of medical terminology.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Transcribes medical
reports such as discharge summaries, operative reports, clinic summaries,
psycho-diagnostic reports, delivery notes, and other complex medical
material from rough drafts, corrected copies, or dictating equipment.
- Proofs transcribed
materials for accuracy.
- Adheres to internal
controls established for department.
- Performs related duties
as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school diploma or
equivalent and one year related experience. Must pass typing test at a net rate
of 40 wpm and pass spelling test with 85% accuracy.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment and medical dictation systems.
Working Environment:
Standard office environment.
Other:
