Job Summary:
To provide responsible clerical skills to maintain effective communications and to assure proper distribution of a work force.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Answers incoming telephone calls.
- Relays messages and requests to appropriate personnel.
- Dispatches personnel, equipment or services to the requesting party.
- Schedules and directs the work effort of the department.
- Maintains dispatching board to ascertain location of employees at all times.
- Insures delivery of equipment and accomplishment of tasks requested.
- Records time that calls were received, time persons were dispatched, and time of
return.
- Plans daily schedules based on the estimated amount of time and number of persons needed to complete each task.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. No experience necessary.
Equipment:
Standard dispatch equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard office / telecommunications environment.
