JOB SUMMARY:

To provide high level analysis of institutional activities, inter-departmental relationships, workflows, functional procedures, and existing technology; and recommend ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance revenue and effectiveness of overall finance operations through automated solutions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates product/project evaluations by consulting with areas in Finance to identify current procedures, propose future processes and by prioritizing system requirements.

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations of vendor or in-house solutions.

  • Develops and/or assists in development of in-house solutions.

  • Prepares cost/benefit analysis of proposed solutions.

  • Coordinates written recommendation of solutions.

  • Develops operational and functional models.

  • Acts as liaison between Finance and Information Services personnel during analysis, design, and implementation of automated solutions.

  • Evaluates, compares, forecasts, and develops proposals for change based upon current and near future technologies.

  • Maintains industry and professional organizational standards.

  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.

  • Performs related duties as required.

  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

 

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and six years related experience in ERP systems.

 

EQUIPMENT:

 

Standard office equipment.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

 

Standard hospital, clinical, laboratory and/or office environments.   May be exposed to such occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, harmful chemicals, and/or disoriented or combative patients.  Describe travel requirements and other physical demands of job.

 

OTHER:

 

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
