Job Summary:

To ensure the maximum utilization of allocated funds, track expenditures for trend analysis and oversee the day-to-day financial transactions in a major functional area of the Institution.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Reviews unit level purchase requests to ensure effective utilization of funds and that accurate accounting codes are applied.
  • Develops cost savings and operational systems and programs to be implemented throughout the department.
  • Monitors systems which effectively track multiple levels of financial transactions such as travel, purchasing, purchase orders verification, contract interpretation, and fixed assets.
  • Provides budget input to Executive Managers.
  • Monitors, tracks and trends off-site medical expenditures.
  • Oversees major components of operations, i.e., warehouse, purchasing, and accounts payable.
  • Supervises the fiscal and support personnel.
  • Serves as chief departmental liaison with business, hospital and academic administration.
  • Adheres to controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and five years related experience.
