Job Summary:
To ensure the maximum utilization of allocated funds, track expenditures for trend analysis and oversee the day-to-day financial transactions in a major functional area of the Institution.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Reviews unit level purchase requests to ensure effective utilization of funds and that accurate accounting codes are applied.
- Develops cost savings and operational systems and programs to be implemented throughout the department.
- Monitors systems which effectively track multiple levels of financial transactions such as travel, purchasing, purchase orders verification, contract interpretation, and fixed assets.
- Provides budget input to Executive Managers.
- Monitors, tracks and trends off-site medical expenditures.
- Oversees major components of operations, i.e., warehouse, purchasing, and accounts payable.
- Supervises the fiscal and support personnel.
- Serves as chief departmental liaison with business, hospital and academic
administration.
- Adheres to controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and five years related experience.
