Job Summary:
To perform basic assurance, consulting, and investigative engagements with minimal supervision. Participate in moderately complex to complex engagements with an appropriate level of supervision.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Performs audits and other auditing services as assigned in accordance with professional standards.
- Plans or assists in planning the theory or scope of the audit and the audit procedures to be used. Prepares or assists in preparing the audit program.
- Surveys operations, functions or activities and gathers information on key business risks. Evaluates the adequacy of the controls designed to manage those risks. Discusses strengths and opportunities for improvement with management, and develops recommendations for improvement.
- Uses standard audit techniques, obtain, analyze and appraise data, transactions and records as a basis for providing an objective opinion on the performance of the business activity and the effectiveness of key risk management activities.
- Uses automated software to document audit work in an organized, accurate, and concise manner that clearly supports the conclusions reached regarding audit objectives.
- Prepares or assists in preparing draft issues or written reports and makes or assists with making presentations to management.
- Builds client relationships by demonstrating professionalism, appropriate
self-confidence, a facilitative communication style and constructive responses to client needs.
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with team members and others by demonstrating productivity, initiative, willingness to learn, flexibility, respect, cooperation and commitment to the success of Audit Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including involvement with departmental and institutional improvement teams and task forces, training initiatives, and other program support activities.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years auditing or related experience.
