Job Summary:

To coordinate and supervise the activities of an assigned work group; to process personnel time and attendance transactions in order to generate payrolls in a timely and accurate manner while providing professional customer service for departmental timekeepers and managers.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Payroll Duties related to Payroll Disciplines
  • Completes all task requirements of the Payroll Representative.
  • Supervises Payroll Representatives as follows:
    • Manages disciplinary actions
    • Manages day to day workflow activities
    • Performs all aspects of the PMP process and coaching required
    • Coordinates all work schedule activity
  • Functions as the liaison between upper management and support staff.
  • Participates in establishing departmental (Payroll) policy.
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures for work group are maintained.
  • Leads process improvement projects.
  • Monitors work outcomes and provide metric data for upper management.
  • Assists, guides, and instructs support staff with non-routine policy interpretations or transaction problems which require resolution.
  • Adheres to internal controls established for department.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.            

Required Education / Experience:

Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or equivalent experience and four years of related work experience in payroll, accounting, and/or business.

Equipment: 

Standard office equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environments.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
