Job Summary:
The Research Development Coordinator will provide advanced consultation to
faculty in support of research at UTMB through grant development, writing,
project coordination, and identification of new funding opportunities.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Provides grant development expertise to all UTMB research faculty
- Identifies funding opportunities and matches to appropriate faculty
- Markets services to campus and builds positive working relationships with
faculty and academic departments
- Identifies and brokers university collaborations for basic research
opportunities
- Reviews RFA/RFP content and educates faculty and ad-hoc committee members
- Guides departments on budget development
- Reviews proposals for conciseness, clarity, grammar, and concept integration
- Provides focus and coordination for the development of complex projects
- Attends and participates in ad-hoc faculty committee meetings during project
inception and development
- Prepares and presents formalized grant development workshops
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
- Performs related duties as required
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four years of related experience. Master’s
degree preferred. Requires excellent internet skills, and knowledge of Microsoft
Office software and Adobe Acrobat applications.
