Job Summary:
Assists the director in representing UTMB to the county governments across the state in order to develop a mutually beneficial healthcare resource for their patient population.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Develops and supports contract negotiations by serving as a liaison with Gulf Health Network and performing direct contract negotiations.

Provides education on relevant managed care issues and trends for UT-MED faculty, administration and ancillary support staff.

Reviews and updates existing contracts to reflect market, environmental and business changes.

Works with UTMB Hospitals and UT-MED departments and existing committees to administer negotiated contracts.

Serves as primary UTMB contact for managed care companies.

Develops and promotes specialty programs such as transplantation.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and two years of experience.
Equipment:
Standard office equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard office and hospital environment.
