JOB SUMMARY:

Provide supervisory and/or advanced-level computer desktop user support and services. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide support and services in the areas of hardware, software, and network operations. 
  • Assure computer operating problems are responded to and resolved within recommended timelines.
  • Provide high level expertise and direction for computer and peripheral operations, installation and troubleshooting, for customers and for others on the desktop support team.
  • Provide customer and team assistance support for directory services and remote access tools.
  • Provide IT customer service and/or Service Desk support to all levels of computer users as well as assisting team with solutions.
  • Provide high level expertise for installation and support for hardware, software and networked systems in a multi-protocol environment.
  • Provide direction and support, and establish guidelines and processes for computer imaging creation, pushing and pulling using various products.
  • Supervise or lead other desktop support personnel.
  • Serve as mentor, provide training, or assist Desktop Support Specialists
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

 

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field and three years customer service, or desktop user support, or related experience.

 

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office, clinical or hospital computer based equipment.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environments.

Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.
