JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical guidance and direction in the development, implementation and maintenance of training software and infrastructure. Provide high level analysis of existing training technology, curriculum and recommend ways to improve effectiveness of the overall Information Systems training program. Effectively coordinate training activities of the UTMB user community for all clinical and administrative systems.
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: · Lead training development by consulting with subject matter experts to identify current workflow processes and prioritize training needs for clinical and administrative systems. · Design custom training and reporting databases. Program database software using information from class registration data. · Design guidelines and templates for content and instructional design of web-based training. · Analyze and recommend effective tools for all modes of multimedia training output and instructor led classes. · Directs the implementation and maintenance of training software systems. · Project Manager for specific clinical and administrative applications. · Evaluates vendor solutions and hardware/software. · Prepares cost/benefit analysis · Presents recommendations to management. · Participates in training software acquisition planning. · Trains IT personnel on applications used in the department. · Functions as the technical lead trainer liaison to internal and external customers and vendors. · Applies technical systems expertise in troubleshooting customer requests for application optimization. · Maintains application certifications for administrative and clinical systems. · Attends system forums to further improve expertise in supported applications
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four years related experience.
EQUIPMENT: Standard office equipment. PC desktop and AV equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Standard office and classroom environments.
