JOB SUMMARY:
Participate in the analysis, design,
configuration, and development of reporting solutions to meet current and future
business needs. Work closely with the Finance community in the Academic
Enterprise to deliver, maintain, troubleshoot and enhance Finance system
functionality. Add value to the financial software applications and business
through knowledge of SQL, OBIEE and Hyperion products and through constructive
teamwork with the business and IT teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Partners
with functional and IT areas to understand and meet the reporting needs of
the Academic Enterprise
-
Responsible for taking a proactive approach to servicing customers
-
Designs
reporting solutions to meet business requirements based on functional needs
and development knowledge in the various business systems.
-
Understand structure and data elements of multiple source systems: Hyperion,
Signature, Invision, and PeopleSoft.
-
Understand the business processes and how the application supports the
business processes and applies this knowledge to best solve problems
-
Participate in user requirements gathering and conduct documentation designs
-
Provides
alternatives based on best practices and application functionality
-
Uses
functional specifications and works with necessary resources to complete
object development and testing
-
Perform
dashboard creation and maintenance
-
Assist
with coordinating, developing, and documenting user acceptance testing
-
Provide
written and oral status updates to management
-
Interacts
with Management to understand and meet reporting needs
-
Interact
with users of all levels across institution
-
Performs
job duties with significant amount of autonomy with minimal oversight or
review from manager.

Exercises
considerable professional judgment on balancing of multiple priorities with
fixed deadlines

Adheres
to internal controls established for department.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors
Degree or equivalent in information technology, management information systems,
accounting, or financial area and one year of experience.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
-
Basic
knowledge of financial applications and processes

Knowledge
of SQL and business intelligence products such as OBIEE and Hyperion
-
Strong
communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism
in dealing with staff at all levels of the institution

Effective
problem-solving skills.

Ability
to develop, prioritizes, and accomplishes goals

Ability
to analyze and evaluate data and make appropriate decisions/ recommendations
