Job Summary:
To perform and manage the operation of financial systems in order to produce complex financial reports and perform related analysis for presentation to Executive and Senior Management.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Administers the software systems by managing and performing: system maintenance, procedure documentation, coordinating user access; and operating the system (performs allocations, consolidations, eliminations and journal entries as required).

Performs job duties with significant amount of autonomy with minimal oversight or review from manager.

Exercises considerable professional judgment on balancing of multiple priorities.

Develops financial system tools to prepare detailed and executive level analysis of university-wide reports.

Understands structure and data elements of multiple source systems: SRC, FRS, Signature, Envision, HRMS, and Peoplesoft.

Works with the Peoplesoft implementation team to design new Financial Systems (General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Purchasing).

Partners with senior university operations personnel to collect, report and analyze mission critical performance metrics (both operational and financial) in order to facilitate implementation of effective corrective measures.

Interacts weekly with Senior Management to understand and meet reporting needs.

Analyzes and prepares various financial reports for both internal and external users.

Interacts with report users of all levels across institution to confirm and preserve data integrity as well as to educate them on how to interpret generated information.

Examines historical and projected financial data to provide senior management with critical information upon which to make significant financial decisions that affect the long-term financial health of the university.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and three years in an accounting or financial area. (Master’s degree and or CPA preferred.)
