JOB SUMMARY:
Provide quality, professional assistance and expedient
customer service within a specialized area of Benefits Services by maintaining
the service lines compliant with laws and regulations related to benefits
administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the
coordination, testing and implementation of technical aspects of benefits
administration. Audit and revise process setup by initiating creative and
intuitive searches and implementing changes to enhance administration
process; specifically applications to reduce manual intervention by
participating, implementing and communicating processes.

Coordinate and/or assists
with benefits related research projects and analysis.

Responsible for performing
benefit enrollment administration. Maintain the benefit system and
updates. Produce monthly enrollments for newly eligible participants,
process coverage changes, default coverage, investigate eligibility problems
and questions, complete payroll adjustments and perform audits.

Assist with the audit
reconciliation and payment of insurance premiums to ensure proper
eligibility, billing reconciliation and data set error corrections. Work
with various service entities and Benefit staff to maintain a productive and
timely system for expediting the flow of benefit eligibility to our
providers.

Responsible for conducting
various benefits related in-services, which may include on-going training of
benefit programs, plans and policies.

Responsible for the review,
distribution and monitoring of various reports in accordance with current
guidelines for quality assurance in processing and distributing notification
of participants’ eligibility in various benefit programs.

Provide benefits
interpretation and work with service entities in maintaining Human Resources
policy and procedures related to benefits administration.

Liaison related to
Correctional Managed Care benefits.

Resolve employee issues
while providing quality customer service in a compassionate and reassuring
manner.

Adheres to internal
controls and reporting structure.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and one year related
experience.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard office environment.
This position requires a high degree of visibility and interaction with all
levels of employees including classified, executives and faculty, as well as
some travel and minimum physical demands.
