JOB SUMMARY:
Provide quality, expedient customer service in regards to
employee’s total reward and compensation package by facilitating benefits
service lines, while maintaining a high compliance of laws and regulations
related to benefits administration. Maintain a high productivity which enhances
the support of the Division and UTMB’s mission of providing quality health care
to our employees and community. Accountable for providing quality and stellar
customer service to all customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for processing
and maintaining insurance enrollments/records for employees, retirees and
retirement benefits, which includes processing disability and Life/AD&D
claims and assisting in audits, and required functions of on-boarding.

Responsible for conducting
various benefits related in-services and presentations, which may include a
portion of new employee orientation, exit sessions, on-going training of
benefit programs, plans and policies, and the annual benefits fair.

Responsible for accurate
and timely data entry of all service related items, to ensure the proper
eligibility for insurance participants as designated and employment
eligibility verification.

Responsible for quality
assurance in processing and distributing notification of participants’
eligibility for continuation of health benefits (COBRA). Including but not
limited to correspondences regarding vesting/termination information.

Be knowledgeable and adhere
to all processes and procedures in regards to Benefits Services.

Assist with the
department’s central filing system.

Provide quality customer
service.

Effectively provide quality
benefits interpretation and effectively work with service entities in
maintaining Human Resources policy and procedures related to benefits
administration.

Effectively provide
advisement/consultative services on employee benefits by increasing
employees’ understanding and participation in benefit programs and educating
employees regarding the value of all benefit related plans by providing
benefit related feedback within a timely and efficient manner on all aspects
of media.

Initiate creative and
intuitive searches and implement changes to enhance administration process,
specifically applications to reduce manual intervention as well as
participation, implementation and communication of special projects.

Liaison to Correctional
Managed Care

Effectively utilize a
win-win approach when resolving employee issues. Be compassionate and
reassuring to employees when assisting with the aspects of life, sick leave
pool and disability claims.

Adheres to internal
controls and reporting structure.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree and 1 year of experience.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard office environment.
This position requires a high degree of visibility and interaction with all
levels of employees including classified, executives and faculty, as well as
some travel and minimum physical demands.
