Job Summary:
To provide assistance in the implementation and maintenance of campus-wide programs and activities regarding equal opportunity and affirmative action laws.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Assists in the preparation of policy statements, administrative procedures, and descriptions of affirmative actions programs and activities.

Manages the activities associated with the vitae bank for minority individuals and women including analyzing and collecting vitae in order to provide information and reports as needed to the director and affirmative action representatives.

Assists the director in preparation of departmental and special activity budgets.

Serves as the departmental liaison with other UTMB departments, such as but not limited to Accounting, Purchasing, Budget, and Human Resources.

Prepares confidential reports for the Director regarding the management and status of grievances, appeals, external, internal discrimination complaints and counseling activities provided by the office in order to monitor any potential problem areas.

Assists the Director and assigned staff in design of internal audit and reporting systems to measure the effectiveness of the University's programs and activities to recruit and retain persons covered by applicable federal and state EE/AA laws and regulations.

Provides guidance and assistance to the affirmative action representatives in the management of their assigned responsibilities.

Serves as the editor of the synergist publication.

Adheres to internal control.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.
