Job Summary:
To provide assistance in the implementation, and maintenance of a campus wide program of equal opportunity and affirmative action in compliance with state and federal laws and the Regent's Rules and Regulations of the University of Texas Systems.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

Assists in the development of policy statements, affirmative action programs, internal and external communication techniques.

Serves as liaison between employees or students assigned to specific areas within the Medical Branch and Affirmative Action Office.

Implements and coordinates employee recruitment and retention programs to attract and retain underrepresented groups.

Aids in the design and implementation of audits and reporting systems.

Measures the effectiveness of the Medical Branch Affirmative Action.

Ensures that facilities have been modified to accommodate the handicapped.

Recommends remedial action as required.

Determines the degree to which goals and objectives are maintained.

Develops and implements a program concerned with the collection of community resources such as the availability of housing and child care, which will aid in the retention of staff members.

Adheres to internal controls established for department.

Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.
