JOB SUMMARY:
Assist and support the Assistant Director of Enrollment Services (Financial Aid)
in the daily operations of financial aid disbursement and the management of the
Customer Services Area of Enrollment Services. Responsible for assisting in the
processing and distribution of student aid, compliance with institutional, state
and federal guidelines and departmental technology implementation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Acts as Liaison in the Financial Aid
process for all four schools, following federal and state guidelines and the
UTMB Financial Aid philosophy.
- Creates and ensures that Financial Aid
reports are accurate and timely, as required by all laws and regulations
including UT System Regulations, and federal and state laws and regulations.
- Provides direction and leadership for
Sr. Enrollment Services Specialists.
- Responds to questions and
resolves issues related to the student loans, both federal and institutional
for current and former students.
- Handles issues and has the
authority to make decisions that are not within the scope of the Enrollment
Services Specialist or Sr. Enrollment Services Specialist.
- Communicates effectively
with applicants, current and former students, and be able to articulate and
explain institutional and school policies and procedures.
- Assists in processing data for
collection of institutional student loans.
- Ensures that accounting practices are
followed, accounts balanced, and reports created are timely and accurate.
- Process Financial aid applications
utilizing Regent/FAM System.
- Monitors and enforces compliance with
Financial Aid policy.
- Assists with the creating, maintaining
and communicating of the processes and work flows in Financial Aid.
- Ability to fully utilize Financial Aid
Regent System and communicates issues and develop solutions to technical
issues.
- Adheres to internal controls and
reporting structure.
MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field. Two (2) years of direct
supervisory experience working with student Financial Aid, Admissions or
Registration and accounting/account reconciliation.
EQUIPMENT:
Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:
Standard office environments.
