JOB SUMMARY:

To provide counseling and mental health services for university and graduate level students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides counseling for students and their families.
• Assists individuals in determining and defining goals and planning action reflecting interests, abilities and needs.
• Plans and coordinates student management in collaboration with the wellness team.
• Confers with the lead counselor and others as necessary to obtain supplementary data.
• Follows progress of students.
• Maintains concise records of course of treatment.
• Develops and presents wellness programs.
• Supervises trainees as assigned.
• Adheres to internal controls established for department.

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Masters degree in a mental health field with a minimum of 1 year clinical experience.  Licensed as a mental health professional in the state of Texas.

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard office environment.
