JOB SUMMARY:

Utilizing web and video production skills, create and distribute media in ways that support, enhance and enrich communication and connections within and beyond the university.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Audio & Visual Content Production (40%)

  • Produce (capture/shoot, edit, format and post) audio and video for use in support of institutional communication efforts.

  • Oversee technical operation of video production suite; research and maintain video production equipment, software and upgrades with the assistance of on-campus and off-campus support.

  • Manage production teams or individual freelancers when necessary to support the creation of institutional videos or staged events.

  • Manage final editing of in-house productions; orchestrate music and talent selection, and related production tasks.

 

Web Development 30%

·        Work collaboratively with others in University Advancement to support the department’s varied web-based media relations, communications and development activities.

·        Use skills to build and maintain web pages and blogs that take advantage of new and emerging communication and web technology.

 

Institutional Support (30%)

  • Serve as the technical producer and point-person for University Advancement events or projects involving video or broadcast needs.

  • Work with others on campus to coordinate new media efforts, set a high standard for quality and accessibility, and align the institution’s promotional and strategic goals with its video, technical and web capabilities.

 

  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

 

MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs related duties as required.

 

 REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree or equivalent and one year related experience. 

 

EQUIPMENT:

Standard office equipment and audio/visual equipment.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:

Standard office environment.
