Job Summary:

Under general direction, provides technical analysis and support for maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of mainframe multiple virtual storage (MVS) operations and other applications and systems. Provides planning analysis and support for monitoring workflow, methods, and procedures for mainframe, midrange, and Intel based systems. Recommends standard policies and procedures for providing routine service.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Monitors data processing equipment time.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding existing and proposed work flow, methods and procedures that assist operations, help desk, systems and programming personnel to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Utilizes MVS/JCL, CICS commands and IBM utility software to provide problem solving and support for production jobs and re-run/re-start setups.
  • Utilizes production job scheduling application system to monitor unrelated systems for synchronization of batch processing.
  • Assists Technical Services in maintenance of mainframe, midrange and Intel based systems.
  • Integrates automation tools with Roscoe, MVS/TSO, CICS console command line text and VTAM.
  • Develops documentation and organizes training.
  • Participates as team member
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and no experience.

Equipment: 

Standard computer control room environment.

Working Environment:

Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
