Job Summary:

Top-level expert to provide hardware and software technical support for a multi-system, multi-platform, networked computing environment. Formulates and designs specifications for complex operating software and programming applications or modifies/maintains existing applications.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

  • Provides software and hardware requirements in conjunction with other information systems and operating software programming applications.
  • Provides technical guidance to staff.
  • Provides input to policy level direction regarding standards and budget constraints.
  • Modifies/maintains existing applications using releases and utilities from the manufacturers.
  • Responsible for applications dealing with the operating system, network integration, sophisticated routines, file maintenance, and advanced software packages.
  • Participates in and coordinates all phases of total system planning specifications for facility requirements.
  • Participates in quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing products.
  • May acts as project leader.
  • Responsible for system or application design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Defines and maintains application data structure. Tunes data structures for performance, provides back up, recovery and archive functions.
  • Provides required support for application delivery.
  • Participates as team member.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 6 years of related experience.

Equipment: 

Standard networking systems, data delivery systems, and database equipment.

Working Environment:

Standard office environment
