Job Summary:
Under direct or minimal supervision, to assist in performing routine tasks
associated with monitoring and controlling one or more mainframe, mid-range or
Intel based servers or auxiliary equipment directly associated with the computer
in accordance with detailed instructions.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Executes, monitors, and performs recovery on Mainframe batch production and VAX
job streams according to schedule provided in the time frame specified.
- Monitors, understands, and reacts to all system messages on various computing
platforms as necessary to insure that all required tasks are completed within
time frame specified.
- Identifies, reports, and assists in correcting computing hardware problems to
insure that downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Operates and maintains printing hardware so that quality and time schedules are
met.
- Routinely displays knowledge/ability to recreate reports, to initiate menu
driven functions, to use common JES2 commands, and to issue operating system
commands associated with print queues.
- Distributes reports to appropriate areas so that IS delivery schedules are met
within time specified.
- Reports I/O hardware problems to supervisor within 30 minutes of occurrence to
insure downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Proactively monitors status of printing supplies to insure adequate inventory.
- Updates and maintains operations documentation.
- Participates as a team member.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.

Required Education / Experience:
High school or equivalent and no experience
Equipment:
Mainframe, mid-range, and Intel based servers.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
