Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing top-level technical expertise in one
or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and
programming. Responsible for providing technical guidance, consulting, advice
and support on application of technologies to improve vital business processes
or eliminates extraneous ones, as well as support implementation and maintenance
of institutional information systems.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Independently solves highly complex technical issues.
- May be responsible for multiple phases of a project.
- Demonstrates highly technical and specialized systems knowledge to include
programming, analyzing, and understanding systems to enhance and correct
problems.
- Understands and has experience with complete system life cycles from the
initial planning through the final go-live stage, including the later stages of
enhancements and additions.
- Advise customers on feasibility of systems.
- Applies advanced analysis and documentation skills for system investigation.
- Serves as a mentor to provide direction and technical leadership to staff.
- Focuses on functionality and integration of entire systems.
- Effectively applies awareness and understanding of institution, department and
customer mission and goals to resolve issues and focus on process improvement at
the institutional and departmental level.
- Takes initiative to learn and apply new technology.
- Interacts with executive sponsor and provides status updates to IS leadership.
- Serves as liaison with vendors and/or business partners and their products and
services.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five years related experience.
Equipment:
Standard computing equipment.
Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
