Job Summary:
To provide the technical expertise required to support advanced application and
system software functions for institutional computer installation at the
decision making level.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks:
- Directs the generation and maintenance of the installations of software systems.
- May instruct, direct, and check the work of other operating systems programming
personnel.
- Conducts studies of projected enhancements in hardware and software.
- Prepares recommendations for management.
- Supervises performance measurements and evaluation of systems.
- Determines and directs system performance improvement activities.
- Plans and supervises performance of systems software personnel.
- Responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting systems.
- Participates in quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing
software products.
- Acts as project leader
- Advises software system specialists as needed.
- Assists with work planning, coordinating and advising for other programmers and
software system specialists.
- Defines and maintains application data structure. Tunes data structures for
performance, provides back up and recovery and archive functions.
- Provides required support to application delivery.
- Participates as team member.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5 years related experience. Requires technical knowledge
of all phases of software systems programming applications.
Equipment:
Standard networking systems, data delivery systems, and database equipment Working Environment:
Standard hospital, clinical and/or office environment.
Other:

qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums
