As you prepare to separate employment with the University of Texas Medical Branch, we hope your experience adds value to your future endeavors. We realize this is a critical transition and would like to provide you valuable information and guidance in your departure process. Within this site you will find information that will assist you in a smooth transition.
All employees who voluntarily leave employment at UTMB are expected to complete the Employee Exit Check list to the satisfaction of their department representative. This process is designed to ensure that all university property is surrendered. However, should an employee depart without completing the clearances process, the University may choose to take all appropriate steps required to ensure the return of all University property.
Employees leaving employment, other than retiring, may contact Benefits Services at benefits.services@utmb.edu or 1-866-996-8862 with questions about their UTMB elected benefits. If you wish to review the information for separated employees electronically such as COBRA, Retirement Plans and other benefit related plans click here. COBRA information will be mailed two weeks after your separation process.
To those employees retiring, congratulations and we appreciate your years of service and dedication in reaching this milestone! We recommend that you call Benefits Services @ (409) 772-2630 for a phone consultation or email benefits.services@utmb.edu for a consultation via email. Please provide your name, employee ID number, proposed retirement date and contact number or email address. This information is used to review and determine benefit related eligibility after employment. Retirement group sessions are made available in January, August and December. Please contact Benefits Services for availability and scheduling for one of these sessions.
Please complete a brief Exit Feedback Questionnaire to tell Human Resources about your work experience at UTMB. UTMB is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to enhance the working atmosphere for our employees and we value your feedback. You may print the survey and mail to Employee Relations at mail route #0141 or if you prefer complete electronically, save/scan and email to lmhirsch@utmb.edu, or fax to (409) 747-0333.
