New Employee Orientation

New Employee Orientation will be offered in a classroom setting on the first and third Monday of each month.

Registration

All participants must be pre-registered and listed on the sign-in sheet in order to attend orientation. This registration process is handled by HR Recruitment, any questions regarding registration should be directed to the department's hiring manager or your HR Recruiter.

Location

The location can sometimes vary depending upon room availability and class size. Please check with your HR Recruiter to verify the location of your scheduled orientation.

Course Objectives

Each employee that attends the classroom session of New Employee Orientation will receive credit for the following mandatory trainings:

  • New Employee Orientation - Welcome and Overview
  • Annual Required Training (General Compliance, HIPAA, and Sexual Harassment)
  • Information Protection
  • Standard Precautions

Please Note: Registration does not guarantee credit for the courses listed above. Each class has a separate sign-in sheet used to ensure you receive proper credit.

In addition to the mandatory training, participants will receive information regarding Benefits, AIDET, and Health and Wellness. All other mandatory trainings can be accessed through the online training system at http://training.utmb.edu. If you have any trouble logging in or launching courses please contact the UTMB Help Desk at 409-772-5200.

Parking

Free parking is available. Please verify with your HR Recruiter.

Time

New Employee Orientation will be a very full day, beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

Refreshments/Lunch

Refreshments (water and coffee) and lunch will be provided.

Attire

Business casual is the recommended attire for New Employee Orientation. You may want to bring a jacket to remain comfortable with fluctuations in room temperature.
