Lee Sydney Webster, SPHR, GPHR, Director, Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
Mr. Webster will oversee UTMB’s recruitment and retention efforts, and he will be responsible for collaborating with leadership in the
design and implementation of strategic and tactical recruitment initiatives; directing staff, processes, and systems toward desired outcomes;
modifying processes and systems as needed to comply with institutional and state regulations; and monitoring customer satisfaction and
Mr. Webster comes to us with more than 20 years of related experience, including six years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army.
Most recently, he served as director of HR Standards for the Society for Human Resources Management and vice president of Human Resources
for Professional Healthcare Resources. He also has held senior Human Resources management roles with Pepsi Americas, CNH Corporation, and
ExxonMobil. He earned a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point as well as a Master’s of Management
and a J.D. from Northwestern University.
Craig Vollmers, Manager, Talent Acquisition
Craig has extensive experience in human resources as an employee relations and recruiting expert. Craig most recently served as the VP of
HR for Revenew International, a boutique audit and consulting firm in Houston. Craig has extensive experience in healthcare HR,
having served in positions of increasing scope and responsibility at UT Health Houston, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center,
ATC Healthcare Services and ManorCare (HRC). His areas of expertise include team and department leadership, talent acquisition,
compensation, planning and management, and marketing.
Craig has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Houston and hails originally from the Land of 10,000 lakes –
otherwise known as Minnesota.
Patty Trimingham, PMP, Manager, Talent Acquisition
Patty has been employed with UTMB Health for 29+ years. She began her career at UTMB as a programmer trainee in Information Systems and
worked her way up to Manager of Programming/Network Services and Senior IT Project Consultant before coming to HR 6 years ago. Patty has a Bachelors degree from Washington
State University and holds a Project Management Professional certification.
Joanne Vasami, Manager, HR Administrative Manager
Joanne began her UTMB career in the OB/GYN Oncology Department but then moved soon after to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine team where she
spent eleven years as a Senior Administrative Secretary. She is a member of both the Society for Human Resource Management and the American
Society for HealthCare Human Resources Administration. Joanne has a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of
Patsy Esser, Sr. Human Resources Generalist
Patsy joined the UTMB Employment family in 1995. She was a member of the Employee Relations team for over ten years where she developed a passion for compliance.
Patsy now enjoys her new role in Recruitment ensuring compliance with Institutional, State and Federal employment policies.
Bree Akingbola, Nurse Recruiter
Bree Akingbola joined UTMB Recruitment Services in Nov 2012, prior to joining UTMB she worked as a senior recruiter at Texas Children’s Hospital from 2007 to 2012.
She has recruited for a wide array of professions and disciplines in Nursing, Allied, Leadership, Administration and Post Graduate Fellowship recruitment. She holds
a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos Nigeria and joins our team with over 13 years of solid recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Strategic planning and Project management experience.
Elaine Barnes, Sr. Recruiter
Elaine joined UTMB Recruitment Services in July 2013, where she currently serves as a Senior Recruiter in the Academic division.
Prior to joining UTMB she worked as a Corporate Recruiter at Bank of America from 2007-2013. She has recruited for a wide array of industries
including Healthcare, Accounting & Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Banking. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from
Texas A&M University and comes to us with over 13 years of recruiting experience.
Marsha Brookover, Sr. Recruiter
Marsha has been employed at UTMB Health in HR Recruitment since 2001. She currently serves as a Sr. Recruiter recruiting for the Academic areas.
She has experience recruiting for a wide range of areas including nursing, licensed and non-licensed clinic/hospital titles, and A/P positions.
Her previous employment history includes working in the Business Office of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 14 years.
She holds an Associate of Arts degree from San Jacinto College. She is a member of SHRM.
Lisa Devereaux, Sr. Recruiter
Lisa began working as a Recruiter at UTMB Health in 2007, where she helps fill the needs of departments seeking non-licensed support staff in the hospital
and clinics, in addition to Radiology staff and administrative support. Before joining Recruitment, Lisa worked with the UTMB Health team for three years
as a UTMB Health HR Specialist through Workforce Solutions, and before that as an employment counselor there. Prior to entering the Human Resources field,
Lisa - who has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University - worked for 10 years in medical research, using molecular biology techniques to study cancer.
Aaron Greatens, Sr. Recruiter
Paul Hay, Sr. Recruiter
Paul joined our recruitment team in September 2013. He has a Bachelor’s degree from U of H in Marketing. Paul has 8 years healthcare
recruitment experience, mostly at Houston Methodist Hospital; a total of 18 years of recruitment experience. His recruitment experience in healthcare
has been in Allied Health, Nursing, Finance, Patient Access, Service level and other professional positions. Paul also has 8 years of
managing catering events from very small to extremely large events.
Linda Padierna, Sr. Recruiter
Linda has been employed at UTMB Health over 10 years where she currently serves as a Sr. Nurse Recruiter in Recruitment Services. She has also served as an Administrative
Specialist for the Department of Microbiology and Immunology serving as the liaison and contact for all Human Resources and International Visa related requests for the department.
Linda has also worked in the automobile sector as an Office Manager for an independent Auto Parts and Repair, Towing Service. She continues to remain active in her Consultant
role by participating in recruitment functions locally, and out of state. Her total HR career spans over 14 years. She holds a an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration
from Galveston College, and has college credit hours toward her Bachelor’s at the University of Houston Clear Lake.
James Patterson, Sr. Recruiter
James has extensive local experience in recruitment, sourcing and training. He was previously the regional Business Consultant
with Workforce Solutions (WS) where he led local talent development, employment and workforce outreach efforts on behalf of the
State. He also worked as a Recruiter through WS for NASA – Johnson Space Center and Shriners Hospitals for Children – Galveston.
James is already a familiar face to many because of his “born on the island” status as well as his past work with UTMB and
his strong professional and community involvement. For example, James has led social media and recruitment seminars for
the UTMB Office of Faculty Affairs and also is involved in many local charities.
Audrey Travis, Sr. Recruiter
Audrey has been employed at UTMB Health since she was hired as a Recruiter in 2000. She currently serves as a Sr. Recruiter recruiting for
the Institutional Support area; and has experience in academic, healthcare/clinical, executive, physician, resident and student recruitment.
Audrey’s previous employment history includes working for faculty in the Departments of Chemistry and Physics at Kentucky Wesleyan College,
and in the lab at Martin Marietta. She holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Chemical Technology from Kentucky Wesleyan College
and is currently working towards her bachelor’s degree at Our Lady of the Lake University. Audrey has earned her LinkedIn Recruiter Expert
Certification from LinkedIn and her PHR certification from the Society of Human Resource Management.
Mary Barr, HR Business Coordinator
Mary brings over 16 years of management experience to her current position in
Human Resources, welcoming the new hires when they come to campus to complete their new hire paperwork. Currently Mary is working towards her AAS Industrial Design
and will continue with plans to achieve her BA in Business Administration.
Rosie Castro, Sr. Business Coordinator
Ronnie Choriego-Mendez, Immigration Specialist
Ronnie is currently serving as a Sr. Business Coordinator who also assists the foreign national employees with their onboarding process.
Ronnie received his Bachelor’s from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 2009 and relocated to Houston shortly after. He plans to pursue a
Masters in Business Administration in the near future.
Sharwawn Fontno, Sr. HR Business Coordinator
Sharwawn recently rejoined the Recruitment Team in September of 2013. She previously was employed at UTMB for over 10 Years
in several different areas of Human Resources which include Employee Relations, Training and Development, CMC Human Resources,
Human Development, and Recruitment. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing a
Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix.

Tawana has 8 years of Human Resources experience, with emphasis in Recruiting. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentration
in Human Resources Management from Lamar University, and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University. Her most recent experience involved traveling around
the South Western United States recruiting. She serves as a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, among other professional organizations.
Blake Comeaux, Data Entry Coordinator
Blake joined Workforce Solutions as a resource room specialist in 2007. He began working with UTMB
Health recruitment in the summer of 2008 by assisting potential employees with the UTMB
Health application process, administering typing and spelling tests, and serving as a data entry clerk to the screeners.
