Employee Relations is focused on promoting positive working relationships and environments for all UTMB faculty and staff members.
This division provides consultation on a variety of work-related issues, including performance management, discipline, reorganization, policy interpretation, attendance management and grievances and appeals.
The university's performance management program is essential for the continued growth and development of our workforce, and it enables employees and managers to focus on behaviors and
actions that have a direct impact on departmental and institutional results.
The program's process includes setting employee goals, providing continual feedback, documenting performance and evaluating results.
UTMB managers must ensure they are prepared to deal with all adverse situations that may cause a disruption of operations.
Employee Relations is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures. It facilitates the mediation,
grievance and appeals processes and investigates allegations regarding illegal discrimination, retaliation and sexual harassment.
