Celebration of Service and Commitment

UTMB will recognize the commitment and contributions of our faculty and staff Aug. 9–11. Activities will be held at each of the campus locations and online.

  • Wednesday, Aug. 9

    Angleton Danbury Campus — 9 to 10:30 a.m., North Lobby
    Event for employees celebrating a service milestone or GEM recognition.

    League City Campus — 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Medical Plaza One, Room 2.210
    Event for employees celebrating a service milestone or GEM recognition.

    UTMB Trivia Game Opens — 12 p.m.
    All employees are welcome to participate in this virtual trivia game. A link to the game will be posted online, and prizes will be awarded.

    Clear Lake Campus — 1 to 2:30 p.m., 2nd Floor, Conference Room
    Event for employees celebrating a service milestone or GEM recognition.

    UTMB Clinics
    Employees celebrating a service milestone or GEM recognition will receive their service pin and/or certificate from their manager.

  • Thursday, Aug. 10

    Hourly Prize Drawings — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    All service pin and GEM card recipients will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Prizes will be awarded each hour, and the winning employees will be posted online.

    UTMB Trivia Game Closes — 12 p.m. 
    The winning employees will be posted online at 3 p.m.

    Introduction of The Incredibles — 1 p.m.
    Online recognition of employees celebrating 40 and more years of service.

  • Friday, Aug. 11

    Galveston Campus — 9 to 10:30 a.m., William C. Levin Hall, Dining Room
    Employees celebrating a service milestone or GEM recognition are invited to pick up their service pin and/or certificate.

    Milestone Luncheon — 12 to 1:30 p.m., William C. Levin Hall, Dining Room
    Event for employees achieving a service milestone of 25 and more years. 

 

Recognition of Service Years

This year, UTMB will recognize 1,739 faculty and staff for achieving a significant service milestone between Sept. 1, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2023. Employees who are unable to pick up their service pin and certificate in person will receive these items via interoffice mail.

Recognition of GEM Card Recipients

UTMB’s GEM program provides a quick and easy way to acknowledge others for their extraordinary service, caring and compassion. This year, 699 employees were repeatedly recognized for going the extra mile in their daily activities. Employees who are unable to pick up their certificate in person will receive it via interoffice mail.

GEM Honorees

To be entered into UTMB's drawing for prizes, employees must have:

  • Received three or more GEM cards between Jan. 1, 2022, and March 30, 2023
  • Had their cards submitted for recognition by their supervisor


Hourly Prize Winners – Aug. 10

All service pin recipients and GEM card honorees were entered into an hourly drawing for prizes. Prizes will be sent to the winning employees via interoffice mail.
