As a UTMB employee, you may qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. The PSLF program was established in 2007 to provide debt relief for federal student loan borrowers who work for the government and certain nonprofit organizations.

The program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying payments while working full time. Only payments made under certain repayment plans (primarily income-driven repayment plans) are eligible for the program.
