UTMB is now accepting applications for the second cohort of the Certified Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program.
The cohort begins Jan. 22, 2024, and offers:
- Full-time employment and benefits as a Hospital Aide
- Minimum starting wage of $15/hour, with progressive increases during the first year of employment
- Paid on-the-job learning and classroom instruction approved by Texas Health and Human Services
- Mentorship by clinical instructors and experienced Patient Care Technicians
- Promotion to Patient Care Technician and endorsement to register for the CNA exam upon successful completion of the training
To participate in the program, you must be 18 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED; and be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, which includes prolonged standing and lifting more than 50 pounds.
