TOD offers a variety of assessment options for employees and departments at UTMB. Managers can request assessments for their staff to help improve conflict
management skills, increase awareness of personality and work style behaviors and achieve higher levels of emotional intelligence in the workplace.
TOD consultants are trained to administer the following assessments:
The Birkman Method®
The Birkman Method measures many aspects of personality, including:
Emotional Quotient 2.0® (EQ-i 2.0) & Emotional Quotient 360® (EQ 360)
- Interests – Activities you enjoy and are motivated by in your work and personal life
- Usual Behavior – Your effective and productive behavioral style for tasks and relationships
- Needs – How you need to be or expect to be treated by other people and your environment
- Stress Behavior – Your ineffective and unproductive behavioral style when your needs are unmet
- Career Data – 22 job families, 200+ unique job titles (linked to O*Net)
The EQ-i 2.0 identifies an individual’s level of emotional and social functioning while the EQ 360 provides a more in-depth analysis by incorporating information from those who work closely with the individual. When multiple observer ratings are compared with the results of the EQ-i 2.0 self-report, a complete 360 degree profile emerges.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI)
The MBTI is a self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. It identifies the behaviors and personality type of 16 different preferences based on the original work of Carl Jung and later work of Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs.
Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument® (TKI)
The TKI assesses an individual’s behavior in conflict situations and describes it along two dimensions: assertiveness and cooperativeness. The reporting provides detailed information on how an individual can effectively use five different conflict-handling modes, or styles.
